Responsible Gambling
Effective Date: 18/08/2025
At Airnaija, we are committed to the principles of responsible gaming. We believe that gambling should be an enjoyable form of entertainment. The safety and well-being of our customers are of the utmost importance, and we are dedicated to protecting them from gaming-related problems.
Airnaija has implemented various safety measures and flexible plans to help our customers manage their gambling activities. We will always take the necessary steps to prevent gaming-related harm.
RELAX, IT’S ONLY A GAME
We advise you to bet only with what you can comfortably afford to lose. To help you stay in control, we recommend setting a limit on your spending in advance and never exceeding it. You can personalize your spending limits in the "Deposit Limits" section of your account.
FOLLOW THE AIRNAIJA TIPS FOR SAFER GAMBLING
- Gamble for fun, not as a source of income.
- Only gamble with funds you can afford to lose.
- Decide on a time limit for your gambling session and stick to it.
- Set a money limit and respect the decision you have made.
- Don’t chase your losses; accept them as the cost of entertainment.
- Do not borrow money to gamble.
- Ensure you understand the rules of the games you play.
- Balance gambling with other leisure activities.
- Avoid gambling when you are feeling down, stressed, or lonely.
- Do not gamble if your judgment is impaired by alcohol or drugs.
IF GAMBLING BECOMES A PROBLEM, TAKE A BREAK
Problem gambling can manifest through behaviors such as high levels of spending, negative impacts on work or relationships, theft, lying, and depression. If gambling is no longer entertainment, it's time to take a break. You can decide when and for how long. For assistance, please contact our customer service team.
TAKE THE TEST: UNDERSTAND YOUR GAMBLING HABITS
Periodically assess your gambling habits to better understand and, if necessary, correct them. This simple test will only take a minute:
- In the last 12 months, has gambling often caused you problems at work or home?
- In the last 12 months, has gambling caused arguments or other serious problems with your family, friends, or colleagues?
- In the last 12 months, have you tried to hide the amount you bet from family members or friends?
- Do you sometimes claim to be winning when you are actually losing?
- Have you had to increase the frequency or amount of your betting to maintain the same level of excitement?
- In the last 12 months, have you used gambling as a way to escape from personal problems or to feel better?
- In the last 12 months, after losing money gambling, have you immediately gambled again to try and win it back?
- In the last 12 months, have you tried to get money for bets through deceitful or illegal means?
- In the last 12 months, have you gambled despite promising yourself you wouldn’t, or gambled for longer than you intended?
If you answered "yes" to more than five of these questions, gambling may no longer be a form of entertainment for you and could be a serious issue. We strongly urge you to consider taking a break and seeking professional help. You can find support from organizations such as Gamble Alert and Psychgam Services.
PROTECTING MINORS AND VULNERABLE PERSONS
It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to open an account or place a bet with Airnaija. In accordance with our General Terms & Conditions, we may request identification to verify your age and identity.
